As a form teacher you are required to check the teachers’ comments for your form class and add your own comment. The steps below will show you how to do this in KAMAR: Go to Main Menu → Markbook → Check Reports (make sure you are clicked on Tutor). Please do not use the ‘Tutor15 Entry’, it will let you write in the form teacher comment box but this will not feed through to the reports, you must only use ‘Check Reports’ to write form teacher comments. The following screen will be seen: By clicking on the subject tabs you can view the individual comments from the subject teachers. This screen allows you to edit the comment or send a message to the subject teacher if you require them to fix the report or if the report comment is missing. Your whole form class is in this window and you just need to scroll down to the next person. If you click on Print Subjects You will be able to print a summary of all the comments (see below) Returning back to the previous screen. You can write your form teacher comment in the space provided.
A quick tutorial on how to add a students appointment for later on in the day. This is an option for form teachers if they need to, however students are still encouraged to go to the Attendance officer during form time as is the usual process.

When using google forms you can print these off and give to those students so they are still able to complete the work. When doing this make sure that if there is a video in the google form, that you ask that student to watch it in the library or on your computer prior to going home.

It is a great introduction into how the google forms tool can be used by teachers to save time and collect valuable information from students, parents and further afield. Please read the whole short article if interested but the 10 ways it ca be used are:
I learnt a timely lesson today. Wanting to push the envelope using technology puts us at risk of failure. Failure is hard - especially for teachers. We have to fail in front of our students and that throws up issues of our own self confidence and self esteem. BUT we have to model this positive failure - it's 'failing forward' - and not lose our minds when it doesn't work!
Yes it's frustrating. |
