Thanks to Simon Whittam for passing this on. It is a website where you can enter a job in and find out how likely it would be for that job to be automated in the near future and therefore that the job would no longer need a human being to complete it. I think it would be interesting to put in some of the jobs that your subject prepares students for to see what the findings are. This could help us a lot in future planning of how and what we teach.
There are two sets of instructions in this blog post. These can also be found on the Tech Wizards website for students to access.
This is an amazing spoken word poetry. The advice is so relevant and useful for all teachers. Written and performed by Sinapi Taeao. Thank you so much Sinapi for this wonderful advice.
These instructions are for transferring any google sites from your school google account to a personal account. This is used particularly for transferring your appraisal site when you are leaving WGHS. To view this full screen click here.
There are a lot of good thoughts in the final sum up of the day.
This was a fantastic PD day for the WGHS staff. Inspired by Mark Osborne's talk about why E-Learning is essential for our students, and the range of etools that he showed us that can help you to achieve various outcomes. Staff then worked on embedding E-learning in our senior levels years 11-13. The afternoon was busy creating learning activities and assessments utilising eTools. Thanks so much to Mark and Jo for sharing so much wonderful knowledge with us and for guiding us through our planning. Here is a link to our planning day programme and planning documents. Here is another link to the bookings page to book me to help you over the next couple of weeks in getting ready for 2017. For those of you who use Powtoon for students to create animated videos on, you will know that students often have problems exporting/finalising their video and getting it to you. The best methods are to export to Youtube or to export to a link. Instructions for these are on the tech wizards website. It is a good idea to put a link to these instructions in any task/assignment instructions you give the students.
Thanks to Robyn for sending me this really interesting article to read.
I have never considered or thought about the style of an app in educational terms. We have talked a lot with regards to our E-Learning vision the skills we think digital technology can enhance in our students and that we believe are important for their future. However this article looks at things in a refreshingly new way - educational theory. Well worth it and a short quick read too!! Don't forget to pop it into your appraisal as PD. |
