- finding out what students know at the beginning of a topic.
- creating a class set of study notes at the end of a topic.
- researching a topic
- Pecha kucha (2-5min presentation) or Pepeha - to get to know each other at the beginning of the year.
- brainstorming in groups.
It has the power to enhance students COLLABORATIVE SKILLS, COMMUNICATION SKILLS & provides a space in which they can be as CREATIVE as they like (depending on the task you have set!).
Some Examples
- Pecha Kucha (in this one I did a slide on myself to show the students what they can do)
- Group research task on Smoking. - in this task when students arrived, I organised them into groups and allocated each group an area of the body to research. What is interesting is the different ways they chose to display and communicate information.
