E Learning is not about throwing out one tool for the sake of another. But for recognising which tool is better suited to the purpose.
So when should I use a google doc?
- You can work on a document with other people, at the same or different times, from all over the world without having to send it via email, save it and send it back while other people are waiting for you.
- You can share a document with students to view it rather than printing it out for them.
- You can create group notes/brainstorms/revision notes within your lesson activities. Students can revisit these at a time when it suits them rather than trying to find that piece of paper they were given a term ago which lets face it usually hasn't made it into their books!
- Share a view only copy of an assessment booklet with students. No more providing additional copies when they lose it.
- To create a unit of work with a colleague.
- and loads more reasons.
